Hey there. I spend a lot of time talking about living an inside/out life. That means building your foundation around who you really are so you can navigate the world with confidence and clarity. But today, I want to ask you something simple that can be easy to overlook. How do you want to feel?
Not what others have told you to aim for. Not what social media is pushing. Not what you’ve been told success is supposed to feel like. I’m talking about you. At your core. What feeling are you chasing every day?
Maybe it's happiness. Maybe it's calm. Maybe you want to feel fulfilled, excited, or peaceful. It’s different for everyone. The key is that you get to decide. And once you know what that feeling is, it becomes your compass. You’ll never feel it one hundred percent of the time, but when things feel off, you’ll know how to come back to it.
I use eighty five percent as my personal barometer. If I can feel grounded and aligned about eighty five percent of the time, then I’m in a good place. That means I can handle the ups and downs without completely losing my sense of self. I still have hard days. We all do. But I always know what I’m aiming for. That helps me pull myself back when life gets hectic.
So I want you to think about it. How do you want to feel on a daily basis? Write it down. Sit with it. Revisit it often. Because when you’re clear on that, your actions, habits, and goals start to align more naturally. Instead of chasing what you think you should want, you’re moving toward something that actually matters to you.
This is what inside/out living is really about. It’s not just about checking boxes. It’s about understanding your emotional baseline and building a life that supports it. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a direction. And that direction starts with how you want to feel.
If you want help staying connected to this mindset, I send out a short daily message at 1:27 p.m. Eastern. Sometimes it's brand new. Sometimes it's something from years ago. But it’s always designed to help you reconnect with your path. You can sign up for my daily email here.
