Having a vision for your life is more important than being discipline

Hey there. Many would lead you to believe that developing the skill of discipline is the tip-top level of self improvement. That’s selling our individual capabilities short. If we focus on having a life-long vision for at least ourselves, something that benefits another person, group, community or even the human race discipline and consistency will become a natural byproduct once we begin taking action.

What discipline on its own lacks is critical thinking. It teaches you to turn your brain down and do the tasks even if you don’t want to. Vision gives you an end goal “that will come into focus as you go along” that you’ll have to think creatively and adjust methods to as you go through life.

Discipline isn’t the ultimate goal. It’s a lower level skill that can feed into the solution you develop to solve a problem. Quite possibly a problem that’s challenging many people, not just yourself.
